Libel is when it's written or published.
Slander is when it's spoken.
But you still have to prove actual malice that the Wall Street Journal knew or recklessly regarded the truth or falsity of what they were publishing.
And I'll tell you what, my money's on the Wall Street Journal all day long when it comes to having the goods when they decided to go to publication.
So what Donald Trump may do is he'll file the suit now for PR value, and then he will dismiss it before it gets to the discovery phase.
This is all a stupid ass reality show.
But if I'm agreeing with what she's saying, I feel validated.
They want the file released.
He is flailing.
He is desperate.
He's kind of circling the drain on this front right now.
And let me put two data points next to each other and see what we can conclude.
First of all, OK, he claims the Wall Street Journal just published all kinds of lies about him.
Let's compare that to Elon Musk publishing that Donald Trump's name is in the Epstein files.
Donald Trump did not sue Elon Musk for defamation.
What can we reasonably infer from that?
I guess maybe that's true.
But when a similar accusation is made by the Wall Street Journal, he's got to bring suit.
