if during the execution of the search warrant today at John Bolton's home, they found dozens of boxes of classified documents hidden in his bathroom and his ballroom.
I don't know if he lives in a mansion and he's got a ballroom like Donald Trump has in Mar-a-Lago, but then I will be convinced, Don, this is a righteous investigation and prosecution just like it was down at Mar-a-Lago.
Yeah, so look, they also executed search warrants on Rudy Giuliani's house.
Remember that?
And he never got federally indicted for anything.
So it doesn't necessarily follow that just because there is probable cause and a judge issues a search warrant for your home and your office, it doesn't necessarily follow that you will be federally indicted.
But
I kind of agree with Katie because, look, there's precedent, right?
General Petraeus mishandled classified materials.
He got indicted and pleaded guilty.
Donald Trump, in the biggest mishandling of classified material, certainly by a president, but perhaps, you know, by any high government official, he got indicted and would have been successfully prosecuted because that was a gimme.
That was an easy conviction based on the evidence if it hadn't been
first for Aileen Cannon and second for the Supreme Court's presidential immunity ruling.
But remember, your viewers should remember, Don, he doesn't really have presidential immunity for the classified documents crimes because he committed those after he left office.
So keep an eye on that in the future when Donald Trump leaves power.
But I kind of tend to think
That just as Petraeus had to bite the bullet for his mishandling of classified information, it may be that Bolton finds himself in a similar predicament, gets indicted and tries to negotiate a plea.
I mean, if he's looking forward to discovery and giving the Wall Street Journal and all of the respondents in the case an opportunity to dig through his figurative trash, and he's got plenty of it.
Boy, as a career federal prosecutor, what I wouldn't give to depose Donald Trump.
So, you know, I suspect, Don, first of all, I don't believe he has a winning suit, you know, libel, slander.
