What you see, if you're not in my district, may not necessarily be all of the substance that also comes with me.

But there is plenty of substance.

And if anybody ever wanted to ask, just like anything else, I always have receipts for the work that I have done.

So I will just say that I appreciate the community and the culture because this is something that I never even had to address or deal with because the community is

decided to speak up before I even knew what was happening.

So I appreciate you.

I absolutely obviously love the both of you.

Specifically, though, Don, as a black man, I will tell you that there are certain attacks that I fully anticipate as being a black woman in politics.

But I will tell you that it does cut deeper when it is somebody who looks like me and just happens to be a black man, especially knowing what Malcolm X always said about black women.

Right.

So exactly.

So so the thing is this.

It does hurt because it's like I expect more and better.

And frankly, I am always down for a real conversation.

I really am.

I mean, but I haven't even experienced that type of stuff coming out of even black men on the other side of the aisle in Congress.

That's just the reality because they even have enough respect to say we disagree on this policy or whatever and we'll go back and forth.

But like they have not tried to do what somebody else tried to do.

So it's all good when you know that you're walking in the purpose that God has put on your life.

There is nothing that honestly shakes me like I'm going to keep doing me.
