You know, a team that might have been going to the edges or kicking to the air suddenly start carrying in the field and they start splitting up the pitch.

So if you continue then in what you've been doing, which worked well against a team who are responding in the way you want them to respond, when they change...

there has to be some sort of a cognitive decision made on the pitch to go, maybe we need to alter how we're doing.

So if they're carrying now into the centres, we need to give them possession very far deep in their half so that we don't, so they can't hurt us with those type of carries.

It's that kind of recognition of the game has changed and just because what was working well is on the team sheet and everybody's agreed that's worked really well,

it still needs a feel for the game

That's something I would love to see a little bit more.

And then we're going to switch over to the provinces.

But this is something I would love to see a little bit more ownership of from players.

So there's going to be a huge scrutiny on the halfbacks in this whole season.

I'd like to see other players shouldering that responsibility.

And I remember I was told when I moved from fullback into the centre that I had to start thinking phases ahead.

And that took me a long time to appreciate and understand.

And I think that's something every player should be trying to think about because if you object from that responsibility, you know, who is going to pick up?

It needs to be almost a team-wide thing with these key players that need to be focusing on the management of a game.

But I think the challenge with it is because if you're going to do something differently, you really have to have a strength of your conviction.

And I'm not sure...
