And now we're into it.
And it's a really flowing conversation.
And that...
You know, that was really special, a real talent that Genji's got.
And, you know, I've seen him since being a kid to where he is now.
And he's grown into such a good leader and such a good...
You know, so much respect for that man.
Predominantly true food.
You can make a good argument in the winter months, like you touched on earlier, for a vitamin D. So when I've wrote policies for the likes of Everton Football Club, it's food first, but we will give a vitamin D. You then...
on a need-by-need basis.
So if I've got a younger athlete who's really struggling to hit the protein targets and I've tried to do it via food, I might give him a shake.
And if we're at a stage where we're maximising the training and we're moving towards a first-team squad, we may look at creatine.
Creatine's pretty safe and well...
well studied, but yeah, I will certainly start with a food first approach.
It is, and what I tell a lot of younger athletes is that, Luke, you know what it's like when you was first starting your resistance training.
Then first few years, you get all your gains just from training and eating.
We might start to bring stuff like that in when it slows down, but early on, the muscle,
is an absolute, you know, sponge for food and for that growth stimulus.
So get your training right, eat the right food, get your sleep right, remembering that that's when the muscle's growing.
Mount a younger athlete who wants a supplement, but they're up all night on an Xbox or whatever and they're not sleeping properly.
