If they didn't lose possession of that, I'm sorry to keep it on the poor lad Armstrong, but if they had chosen a simple pass, we would still be celebrating now, or I would certainly still be celebrating now.
I can remember I had tears in my eyes that day, and I don't know if it was because we were doing a commentary from the Celtic end, or that we nearly beat the old enemy.
But it was a near miss for us.
Yeah.
Right.
We have for the English.
All that love and affection comes out in the 90 minutes when Scotland play England.
That's why there's such a great atmosphere.
Well, I think it's not anything the managers have done wrong.
I think, you know, as manager of a national team, you know, you inherit what you've got.
You can't go out and buy players.
You don't spend enough time with them over a season to really affect and improve them.
So it's a very hard job as an international manager unless you strike lucky and get a good group that's coming through at the same time.
And with utmost respect to the lads that have been playing for Scotland the last 20 years or so, since we've qualified, they've not been good enough.
You know, it's sad we're a small nation and you just hope to, well, you have to believe that sooner or later there'll be four or five lads come through that are all top men and can get us qualified for the big competitions again.
