And China has huge investments in these Pacific Coast Latin American nations because, you know, there's a direct sea connection.

No, it's great to talk about Canadian politics.

And it's great that Mark Carney is getting the attention he does on the world stage.

Very much so.

I mean, Carney has been identified with trying to...

Invent a new role for middle powers, as he calls them, like Canada, in a world where the U.S.

can't be depended on and where it's basically actively trying to destroy the Canadian economy.

So he's frantically trying to diversify trade, find new trading partners, and pretty much everything's being sacrificed to that.

So this is a very important trip for him.

Yeah, he's, I mean, he's a very thoughtful guy.

He's better placed than almost anyone to explain the economic problems that Canada faces because the economy is not doing well in Canada.

And the challenge it faces, and he does so quite effectively, you know, whether it's domestic demand or the recent reductions in GDP, or whether it's the problems that they confront in terms of getting our huge natural resources to the rest of the world, because the U.S., our traditional market is just really, really unreliable.

And Trump has honed in on the idea that they don't need anything from Canada, but Carney's trying to prove them wrong.

Well, it's a very interesting situation.

I mean, I was really struck by when Patrick Costello brought a challenge to the ratification of CETA by the Dáil and the Oireachtas.
