So I mean – and that's – these are in large constituencies.
I mean in Ireland, like 6,000 or 7,000 first preferences will probably get you into the doll.
Yeah.
Whereas in Canada, the constituencies are much bigger, but that's how he, as the first openly gay member of parliament, was able to stay in the parliament for so many years.
It's a thankless job, and yet we need someone to do it, and we need –
them to be available.
But I know there are some politicians in Ireland, for example, who have decided they're not going to go to funerals, which is pretty brave of them, right?
But so I think in Ireland, the relationship with the community has two sides to it.
It's extraordinary how much in touch people are with their community.
And we can see that in our politics for good or ill.
But at the same time, you know, you can't turn off.
Everybody knows who you are.
Yeah, I mean I think this is something which we're going to see again and again as more and more wealthy people are in politics and few and few people who aren't are in.
Now, this is especially true in the United States where politicians and presidents and governors all have staff.
They have motorcades.
They have security agents.
They're not doing their own shopping in the supermarket.
And there's even a sort of word for this, which is a supermarket failure or a supermarket scanner incident.
And it comes back to George H.W.
Bush, the first Bush, in 1992, just in the run-up to an election, going to a supermarket before he addressed the Groceries Association.
