And I'm just like, yeah, no, I'm not pausing on this.

It's just terrible.

But you know, they served a purpose and they were successful enough to keep me going and get other opportunities.

And I guess those shows back then, because we couldn't get guests, because we were a brand new chat show.

So, you know, publicists are very mindful of their clients and they're not gonna throw them into a situation where they don't know what's going on.

So the show really in the early days was far less about interviewing people

than you know i was doing stunts with the audience i was doing very early things with the with the internet with phone calls so it was a it was much more of a kind of a comedy prank show there would be a guest there but i talked to them so little i mean sometimes in the edit i hardly talk to them at all so yeah they're not they're not great

Well, I'll start with the last bit.

I think the person who sits at the far end, you are right there.

That person, we have to be confident about that person because they are further away.

It's going to be harder to involve them.

So they have to be a bit more of a self-starter down the end, which is why often it's a British comic or an American comic that's down the end because...

you know i can just look at them and they'll chip in that's what you that's what you need from that person and the rest of the couch is more of a movable feast i mean there is this uh i think uh i don't know assumption that the person sitting next to me is the the biggest star um

But often it's that sometimes we feel like someone will do better if they're there, if they think I'm making a fuss of them.

Sometimes the biggest star, we might think actually they'll do better if there's someone sat on either side of them, they'll feel more protected, they'll feel more comfortable.

And often it's about the product.

often you want the big movie to be up first.

So even if the person who's selling the big movie isn't the big star, they'll be in that first seat.
