So we just thought, well, this is a way out of this.

If we do two or three years up there, I've got enough money to pay that off and enough money to buy another house.

So we ended up going up there for four years and um achieving that.

I'd I'd been to visit my parents once before that time, so I sort of knew what I was getting into, but

The good thing about it is they have expatriates, so any person that comes from outside the country is an expat.

And um

They had a ratio in those days anyway, of you had one expat for every fifty locals.

So you basically had a lot of responsibility.

So you straight away got there.

I'd never managed people before.

And I got there and all of a sudden managing fifty people.

And it wasn't like managing fifty people here, you know, it I don't know what it's like now, but then it was a very primitive place to just come out of independence from Australia and a lot of pretty uneducated people and s very superstitious people.

Yeah, you are managing all sorts of stuff that you would not normally and um

You know, most of these people didn't live in a house, they lived in a village.

So it was they were sort of transitioning from a village life to

you know, more Western type type lifestyle, but you know, you'd have some of these people come in and

That'd absolutely stink.
