So when we as a user see traces, I've always wondered, what is it that we're actually seeing?

Because it's not the actual train of thought, unless you're looking at the open source one.

So how does that work?

Is there a model interpreting the traces?

Or is it just making it up?

What are we actually seeing?

Yeah, because I look at all of them, right?

I look at you guys, I look at Gemini, I look at Anthropic, and I think that opening eyes gives me more information about what it's doing than Gemini says, for sure.

Kind of shows you, yeah, the flaws in your own thinking, actually.

It does.

Which is kind of interesting.
