But in the National League, where a team like the Nats is one under .500, you're four away from the wildcard, and you're jumbled up with, like, seven teams.
So the math is not on your side.
I think teams like that probably don't buy.
If they do, it's a very soft buy to fix a fatal flaw.
For the Nationals, they're the number one scoring offense in the sport, and their bullpen's been a disaster.
They've let blue lead to the Yankees in three straight games in the eighth inning or later going into the break.
Same thing that happened in a previous homestand about a week and a half earlier to the Phillies.
Nobody's blown more leads.
They've given up over 90 runs at home in the eighth and ninth inning this year, guys.
Think about that.
Very painful.
It's excruciating.
