Remember, there were two schools that were intimately involved in this sighting, two schools that were adjacent to each other, Westall High School and Westall State School, the neighbouring primary school.

and a few hundred meters south of the schools was a wooded area by the name of the Grange, an old farm that had fallen into ruin, but the land was still there.

The kids from both schools, particularly the high school,

knew the Grange very well.

Lots of kids travelled through it to get to and from school.

The high school kids often used it for their cross-country running.

And one of the objects was seen very clearly to fly down to the Grange, descend behind a grove of pine trees and disappear from sight.

At that point, some kids were

interested enough obviously in what was happening, intrigued by what this object was, that they did what they knew was very much against the school rules, something which I imagine they'd probably never done before, and jumped the perimeter fence, negotiated a drainage ditch that was on the other side of the fence, ran over what was then a dirt road, and then entered into private property

what was basically market gardens between the schools and the Grange, ran down a dirt lane towards those pine trees at the Grange looking for their quarry, looking for what they'd seen descend into the Grange.

And even though most of the witnesses say by the time they got down there they didn't see the object, there are

a couple of witnesses who said, who say that they did, but certainly a lot of the witnesses recall very clearly watching the object eventually, after about a 20 minute time period, ascending from behind the pine trees and then flying away at great speed.

And for those who remember there being more than one object,

they tend to remember it as that one object being closer to where they were standing and the other two objects being higher up in the sky.

And then when the objects left, the lower object joined the two that were higher in the sky and all three flew away.

For those who only remember one object, they remember seeing that one object.

flying away at great speed.

Lots of people also remember there being five very obvious-looking regular planes that had joined the scene, had flown in from somewhere, planes that looked very much like aircraft that they all knew very well because a very busy airport, Moorabbin Airport,

was and still is only about five kilometres away from Westall.

There are always planes in the sky, Cessnas, other small training aircraft.
