Returning to the show first is researcher Shane Ryan whose work on Westall has helped preserve and piece together the testimony of witnesses over many years including his documentary Westall 66, A Suburban UFO Mystery. Thank you, Andy. It's great to be back again. And I can't believe it's been so long since we talked last time. But thank you for having me back.

Yeah, and great to have Grant on. Grant is the host of the Unexplained Rundown and your work, Grant, these days is also keeping the story alive, bringing renewed attention to a case as we have just passed its 60th anniversary just a few weeks ago. So Grant, welcome back to the pod, mate.
Thanks, Andy. It's great to be with you and great to be on with you, Shane, too. I'm really standing on the shoulders of giants from the work that you've done and others. So it's good to be having a chat with you both.
Well, it's been a while since I've had two guests on the show at the same time, but I'm looking forward to this. And I think it's very pertinent because you're both doing very good work in terms of this spectacular case. It's one I wrote about, shameless plug, in my book, Atlas of UFOs. I mean, I spent a couple of pages on it, but you have done both hours into the hundreds, if not thousands of hours of research, interviews, work online. on westall 1966 recently i re-released that episode shane it was from december 2022 and myself along with yourself you've done all the heavy lifting done a deep dive into the event the people the time the witnesses really bringing that all together but if you don't mind giving us a rundown excuse the the stealing of that phrase grant from you but if shane can give us a rundown of westall 1966 the event the place and what happened

What evidence was collected after the Westall incident?
You know, ever since I've been a kid, I've been in love with maps and atlases and UFOs too, actually. And so the bringing together of those two great things, things that interest me and I know probably interest a lot of other people as well. was a real joy for me to find out about and to actually receive in the mail recently and to start reading so thank you so much for that and yes it's hard for me to believe that it's now a couple of weeks past the 60th anniversary of the Westall incident I'm grateful to still be alive and I'm grateful that so many of the witnesses are still with us as well and so For those people who don't know about the story, and I know there are lots of people out there who don't, probably most of the world still doesn't know anything about the 1966 Westall flying saucer incident.
But it was something which happened in the southeastern suburbs of Melbourne, a place called Westall, which was a neighborhood within the suburb of Clayton South. And the date was the 6th of April. in 1966, which was just a couple of days before the Easter long weekend.
