And she did have some issues with uh I suppose her competitive nerve in major championships dating back to the Tokyo Olympics back in 2021.
And it's something that she's had to work on.
Her talent though has always been there.
She's a European junior champion and
And has been, you know, at the top end of all the athletes coming through that people were talking about when she was a junior.
And now at 24, she's beginning to really show that she is a proper contender.
She goes in the 5,000 meters final, and that will be tomorrow night.
And I think that she has a real chance of a medal.
I'm not the only one who thinks this.
There's one uh opponent, Nadia Batacletti, who's the Olympic silver medalist, and I don't think she's gonna be as
Good as Nadia Badacletti, but you never know in a five thousand meter race.
She'll also go in the fifteen hundred meters at the end of the week, and I think she's got a chance of a real, you know, possibility of a medal in one of those.
And I think the better chance might be in the five thousand meters, which is a very new event for her.
But that field isn't so deep that I'd be that she would be scared of anybody in it, other than Nadia Baticletti.
Well Sophie O'Sullivan yesterday ran a huge personal best at 800 metres, which is uh a step-up event for her in terms of 1500 metres.
She wouldn't normally be very strong at 800 metres.
She broke two minutes for the 800 meters yesterday, uh and she's only the third Irish woman in history to do that.
Her mother, Sonia, didn't manage to break two minutes for the 800 metres.
And also Sophie is an an amazing competitor.
When she gets a chance, it sees a finishing line in sight.
