So Jay Johnston quit drinking when he was a teenager.

And then we're working on the show and he says to me, I've been sober now since I was 16.

And he goes, I know you don't drink.

What do you think about me drinking?

trying it again as the ace man recommends he goes should i try it and i go you know i'm not like a i'm not a big aa guy i just stopped so let me call my aunt who's in aa and she goes and she'd been in forever she goes sometimes they they call it you need to find your bottom again

Oh, wow.

Sometimes you need to.

Sure.

Which is awful advice.

And since I've talked to AA people, they go, I don't know what the fuck your aunt is talking about.

So I give Jay this advice.

And so I say, you know, she said you should try.

And so every Friday night we taped the show and then there would be an after party.

And this guy, John Bowman, legendary showrunner, would bring a good bottle of like McKellen scotch and everybody would have a drink after the show.

So Jay grabs a glass, has a drink, and I see him off in the corner.

He has a couple more drinks.
