And I sure thought I was going to be on the floor trading in New York at one point.
But then I found a real passion for cybersecurity as an emerging – How long ago was that, like 20 years ago?
This is like –
early, early 2000s, right after the dot-com bust.
And there was just data everywhere and systems development was happening everywhere.
And I found a real passion for cyber and how cybersecurity was becoming this really new space, this cool space, uncharted, I might add.
where there was just a lot of development happening.
And I locked my teeth into that early on in my career, from application development to securing applications, networks, and the data layer itself.
And I just, I mean, I went to school as a finance nerd, but then I graduated and I got another degree in the School of Hard Knocks of IT and application development and networking and cyber across the board.
Yeah, it was RSA and Black Hat at the time.
And then, you know, you go to these conferences and you meet as many people as you can and you stay locked in with them.
And by the way, you get it to 2010 and beyond.
Then you start to see the emergence of programs in schools and universities.
But I was well graduated by then.
Yeah.
So for me, it was to take that in that finance mind and that data nerd mind that you say and really use that to help support executives.
Everywhere I've gone in my career, I've been the data nerd that pulled out from the data the decisions that needed to be made in real time and in long-term planning.
It's a career of turning data into decisions, and we finally decided to automate all of that for all of the data nerds on the planet that want to take data and make decisions at scale in real time.
A little bit of everything, including a massive infrastructure at the home lab.
Always trying things, always opening up new ideas and trying new things from software development to different types of hardware deployments to clustering to machine learning.
