The man on the mark has to have an opportunity to touch the ball as somebody's having a shot for goal.
So that'll be, I suppose, the dominant rule versus you're not allowed to improve your angle.
Because not around improving your angle is an interesting discussion.
I mean, obviously the Watson one was the topic and he goes off his line a little bit, but he gets further away from the goal.
So people say, well, he hasn't improved his angle.
But if you kick the ball on an arc...
maybe you are improving like you're improving your opportunity and you're getting around the guy on the mark I mean it's interesting there was a period and I just remembered this quite vividly when I was in Brisbane that when you'd play Collingwood Mason Cox would always come down and pretty much stand on the mark for nearly every set shot that you were having against them because their theory obviously was you've got to kick over the man on the mark and the man on the mark's
eight foot ten or whatever he is you know so it made it a bit more difficult and so that rule is is what's going to be enforced from now on.
You know the rule is you're allowed to hold your position with hands in the back and not push but we I think there's been a lot more pushes that they're getting away with now so we'd say okay
So they bring some vision up yesterday.
We have a look at it.
Well, that's clearly a push.
That's okay.
That's not.
Let's coach.
We've got to start paying the pushes.
Like if it's a blatant push, pay the push in the back.
Because at the moment, it seems it was sort of trending towards so long as you marked it, you could sort of do whatever you liked.
And we think if you pushed in the back, you pushed in the back.
That was my early days.
