It sounds as though you can kind of play around with all the other parts of the routine, but dinnertime and bedtime seem to be the ones that are the most important.
And with regards to entertainment, the holiday periods can also be a time where kids are doing a lot more screen time.
So, you know, looking at a cell phone, an iPad or a TV screen, especially if, you know, they can't play outside or it is raining, for instance, and outside is not an option.
Do you also need, do you recommend a routine around screen time?
So you say, you know, in a day we'll only watch two hours of TV or two hours of screen time.
And then after that, there'll be no more of that.
Or, you know, how should parents manage the screen time, especially because, you know, there might be a little bit more of it because there's more time.
And just with regards to things like screen time, how much of trying to get your kids to manage their screen time also has a lot to do with parents modeling that.
I mean, many of us are on our phones a lot.
I was driving behind a woman a few days ago, actually, and she was on her phone as she was driving.
When we are in the line at the bank or at the shops, many of us are on our phones kind of distracting ourselves.
So we as adults as well have quite a large amount of screen time.
And so how much of it, if you're trying to get your kids to do less of it, do you need to be seen to be doing less looking at your phone as well?
So you mentioned that about a week from when school resumes, that it's a good time to start kind of easing back into the routine you'll have once the school year starts.
So, you know, things like bedtime, dinnertime.
And how do you kind of make that transition?
So the holiday routine is a lot less busy.
There's a lot less time accounted for because you're not getting as much done.
There isn't homework and sports and all of that.
And so how do you start doing that transition from holiday to kind of that week where it's neither, you're still on holiday, but we're preparing for school to now we're back at school and in our normal routine?
