It's not super surprising.
Like one of the first papers in the space from Google, right?
They they wrote a fantastic paper on uh you know where they're detailed on you know just doing very mundane things, like replacing a large uh Java library across a very large code base, right?
Not like millions of lines of code, right?
So it's a very large code base.
it it really depends on you.
But I mean for the banks it's often COBOL or Fortran to job.
Oh cobalt.
You know, I I I actually wrote COBOL code once in the nineties and it probably dates me at this point.
Okay.
Actually, how are LLMs with COBOL?
They they're apparently extremely good.
Um here's the thing, right?
One of the hardest thing if you implement code with LLMs is just getting the specification precise.
Right?
If if I can specify something very precisely, then usually the L can do a good job at implementing it.
So many of these companies do is they take legacy code
They have an LLM, right?
A specification that fits the legacy goal.
And then they say, re-implement the specification, and you may look at the code if they're, you know, as a tiebreaker, if something is not clear, right?
