I've never been diagnosed with summer sads.

But I do know that summers have always been universally, not just since I was a mom, not just since the tangerine took office, not just when I was a kid.

I did not like summers.

um i liked being in school i liked with my books the summers were boring and also i grew up really poor so summers were not vacation times literally summers where nothing changed except instead of going to school and having stuff to do i sat at home and watch prices right and soap operas same i've always felt the same way like i grew up on a dirt road on a mountain in the middle of nowhere so

Yeah, I have the same social skills I have now, which is to say almost none.

I was an undiagnosed, narrow, divergent kid with gifted and talented and weird, quirky stuff that I liked that no one else in the world liked.

Everybody liked it.

We were just too afraid to say that we liked it.

But no, I was super... And then I was an introvert on top of that.

So I just didn't have any friends.

I lived in the suburbs.

I didn't have any friends.

Yes.

I love Star Trek.

But it took me forever to be able to say out loud that I love Star Trek.

And that's when I realized that people that love Star Trek love other people that love Star Trek.

Just like by default.

I could have found my people so much sooner, but I was a chicken about it.

So speaking of communication and being bad about just saying the thing you need to say, Tori and I have been friends for six years, six years.

We've been doing a podcast for three of those.
