Mom completely understands loving one part of the process with every bit of your heart and soul, and despising unto death you'd rather travel to hell itself than do all the rest of the steps required to bring this project into fruition.

So I looked at my daughter and I did the best parenting move I've done in a while.

I told her her book sucked.

I chose careful words.

I did not hurt her feelings.

I did not make it about her skill or talent.

I made it about the effort she put into it, which was not nearly enough.

But I did, in fact, the gentle parent gently explained to her kid that it was real bad.

And she needed to do it again.

And she was getting no credit, admiration, or appreciation for what she did.

Cause it wasn't it wasn't even a part of her effort.

It was a rushed, I want to be done with this so I can have the finished product.

But that's not how this works.
