In a rare bipartisan feat, Republicans and Democrats in Congress overwhelmingly passed the twenty-first century Road to Housing Act this week.
It aims to remove barriers to building housing, limit corporate ownership of single family homes, and ultimately lower the cost of housing for both renters and for buyers.
But on Wednesday, President Trump canceled his planned signing of the bill and said he wouldn't reschedule it unless senators passed the controversial Save America Act.
That completely unrelated bill would impose restrictions on mail in voting, as well as voter.
ID laws, and the Senate hasn't come close to reaching the filibuster-proof 60-vote threshold it needs to pass it.
To talk about all of this and more, KCUR's Zach Wilson spoke with Representative Sharice Davids, a Democrat who represents the 3rd District of Kansas in the U.S.
House.
