Top snow report coming out of North Carolina was just shy of two feet, so over 22 inches worth of snow.
That was over in the mountains, some elevation there.
Here in Greenville, they're averaging about 8.5 inches, but there was a snow report of 15 inches, which would, in theory, make it the snowiest day they've seen on record.
going all the way back to 1896.
That's where the previous record stands at around 13 inches.
But yesterday, the snow came on fast and furious.
We had snowfall rates close to an inch, an inch and a half per hour, and it was a very light, fluffy, powdery snow that can only happen when you have very cold air in place, something that is somewhat rare for the South and the Southeast.
