Well, the same thing that was great about it was the problem with it, which was pretty much for 20 years or so, the only Indian character you saw on TV or in American pop culture.

But by the same token, that made it carry such weight that anything that was diminishing or off about it or kind of from the blind spot that we all were products of in the late 80s,

then that just stuck and lived.
