Once I got through that and I got to Oklahoma, Oklahoma is like a place that I've been and quickly I was getting on roads that I knew or were similar to roads I've been on.
I had friends meeting up to ride with me who live in Oklahoma.
To be honest, I'm not sure I would have done this whole route without leaning on community, which is a thing that I'm still processing right now because, like, do I want to do something like this again?
Do I want to try to be better, like, unsupported?
Or am I just coming to terms that, like, I really love people and I want to share this experience as much as possible with
And do I need people?
And maybe for me, that's what I need to make it enjoyable.
So once I was with people in person who were telling me how proud they are and how excited they are for me and that they're with me and watching my story updates every day, that...
really helped a lot.
And a couple of times, like I got voice recordings from people that really lifted me up.
I'm from Kansas, so I was able to connect with people again in Emporia.
I have family in Nebraska that I got to see.
The doubts just kind of dissipated as long as I kept getting like those little treat moments.
Because I question, like, man, like, did I really suffer that much?
I have to go back and read my own recaps to be like, oh, yeah, wow.
Because your body forgets it.
Like, the trauma, you know, it processes it and it's fine.
Like, you think, like, oh, yeah, I'm ready to go do another big, dumb, crazy ride.
No, I can go back and read what I wrote and know that, like...
No, I was pretty miserable, like a lot of the time, like a way higher percentage than I was expecting.
