Yeah, I would say like, okay, there are going to be two guys, Jacob and Dylan, who are following and we have funding to make a documentary about this.

We're wanting to raise money for bikepacking routes.

We want to showcase the Great Plains areas as like good places to ride and they shouldn't just be seen as flyover states is what we get called a lot.

So other than acknowledging that there's kind of a... Just even having a media crew disqualify you from being able to call yourself self-supported, I wanted to do self-supported or in the spirit of self-supported as much as possible.

So in those six months of leading up to thinking about this ride, I'm thinking I'm not going to take anything from them.

We can hang out at the end of the day, but generally I'm trying to just...

I know that Rob is going to like offer to carry water for me and I'm going to say no.

But then like within a couple of days, like I broke a drive side rear spoke and I didn't have the tool to take my cassette off and actually neither did anybody else.

Um,

So I like just melted down and cried about this because I was like, okay, am I just out until we get to the first bike shop on route?

Or like, do I have to ride like 800 miles on this broken spoke?

Which I know there's people that would just go ahead and do that.

But for me, like the anxiety of riding on unknown terrain and if it were to like actually fail, then now I can't ride at all until I just have to sit in the car until I can jump back on.

Like that sucks.

So after a couple hours fighting with it, one of the media guys, Jacob, took my wheel to a bike shop that was like 100 miles off route.

So I took Dylan's wheel and rode it the rest of the day.

I was able to get my own wheel back for the following day.

I was so torn up about this choice.
