It was a completely anonymous account.

A man named Smith, he then said, listen, Lauren is in Malaysia.

She's been having treatment.

It hasn't gone well.

And so she's now in hospital and they can't bring her out of the anesthetic.

And that was a shock.

Initially, my cousin, Brianna, wasn't sure what to make of such a message given we're in the age of scams and things like that.

But she ended up, you know, connecting this man with my auntie, Susan.

They realized that it was legitimate and then they

You know, my auntie called my dad and they headed over the next day.

And the idea was that they were going to go and hopefully see what had happened and hopefully she would be okay.

But that's not what happened.

So how old was Lauren at this point?

She was 37.

Nobody had any idea that she was in Malaysia.

She spoke a lot about her treatments, that she wanted this ozone in Cyprus.

And so she'd never mentioned Malaysia at all.

So everybody was really shocked and had, you know, my dad had spoken to her just the Thursday before the Monday she left.
