We were just always surrounded by books.
The earliest gifts I remember always getting were books.
We didn't necessarily have a great deal of money.
We weren't buying any toys, but we could always buy.
If we wanted a book, we always got one.
We went to the library all the time.
And so we always, we were surrounded by a love of books and story my whole life.
Yeah, you know, it's hard.
I looked through a little bit through rose-colored glasses.
Both of my parents died young.
When I say young, not like, you know, my father was 59.
My mother was about 60, again, when I can't tell her real age.
So they were both fairly young when they died.
It seemed to me they got along okay.
They had their share of fights and disagreements.
And when my father died, it was sort of the first death experience
in the family for almost everybody.
And it was sort of, the first cut is the deepest.
And I think it was really devastating for all of us, my brothers, myself, my mother.
