His body hasn't been 100% the last couple of months and he's just finding a way to get it done for us.
I think yesterday and even against West Coast, he was huge.
Obviously, he's not in the centre bounce as much and is probably dominant in that space as he was last season or the year before that.
But I thought his marking yesterday, standing up in big moments, took a massive mark against West Coast the week before.
So he's definitely still contributing and I love playing with him.
Yeah, for sure.
Cole knows what I guess his biggest strengths are and then his biggest weaknesses as well and he's working on that a lot after training.
There's a group of us that we do some contested work and ground balls under pressure and tackling and he's got some unbelievable physical traits and he's obviously very quick but he's got the fend off as well and so yeah, we're just trying to
I think for me, I'm trying to help him just understand how good of a player he is and how dominant he can be.
And yeah, I think mentally, like sometimes it can get hard for a young player when you come in and you expect to dominate so much.
And that's all he has done his whole junior career.
And he's been thrown around positions a bit.
So just trying to, I guess, settle him.
And because I obviously went through a similar thing in my first couple of years of moving around a lot.
And it can be hard to
play consistent footy and get settled in that role so I'm just trying to help him in that space and really just give him the confidence to be the player that I know he can be and a lot of us know he can be Alistair Clarkson's the coach that brings a lot of attention and he's there to correct the football club that was on its knees
I think the system that we play definitely has the potential to match it with any team in the competition, and I genuinely believe that.
I think we haven't been able to execute the perfect model.
I think defensively yesterday we were much better, which was a big focus after the West Coast game, in just how we can defend the ground better as a team defence and getting that balance better, because obviously, as it's been spoken about, we went to a more 1v1 defence, especially behind the ball, so...
Just how we can then get a better balance, the whole team defense, and I think, yes, they gave Richmond a 48 points.
