Chapter 1: What is Harry Sheezel's background and connection with Kane?
I'm moving Sheezy back. Yeah. Them other boys, well, they cannot attack. Yeah. I think he's special when he's half back. Come on. Come on. I wanted more. That's a 6am-er.
I wanted more, but it does introduce... Our next guest, North Melbourne getting it done against Richmond yesterday. One of the stars of the show, again, was their young gun, Harry Sheasel. He joins us this morning. Harry, thanks for your time. No worries, Cain. Thanks for having me on. Fair bit, we've got to get through with you, including what you're up to offensively.
Off the field, we'll do that shortly. But just over a year ago, Harry, I was incredibly critical of yourself and the way that the club were using you. So I appreciate you coming on the program. I know you've spoken openly about that feedback and how difficult it was for you to hear. So just wanted to say thank you and appreciate you fronting up considering our past.
Yeah, no, it's good to be on. I think we left it too long, but yeah, no, it's all past now and I've actually learned some pretty valuable lessons from that. So no, I'll hold nothing against you, mate. And yeah, actually find it pretty funny now that all the cheesy ball stuff.
So I have a good laugh out of it. That's very well handled by yourself. Hey, before we get to the footy and the form of your team, fifth quarter camps and your involvement in it with some big information coming up these July school holidays and the stars that will be involved in that. Just tell us a little bit about it.
Yeah, so fifth quarter is a holiday camp for kids. Isaac Heaney and Toby Green actually started it in New South Wales because obviously footy isn't as big over there. So they ran some holiday programs for kids just to get them into footy and was really successful. So yeah, I kind of have joined on as a Melbourne ambassador to bring it here more for kids. For kids 5 to 15, the age group.
So we'll run it most holidays. It'll be at Caulfield Grammar Campus. Sorry, the Willis Hill Caulfield Grammar School this Thursday, the 2nd of July, which will be good. I think Tom Ducone is going to join me as well as some other AFLW players. So it's really good for kids to just come along and learn from AFL talent.
I guess when I was younger, you don't really have great access to AFL players to... run some camps with them and actually hear what they have to do so um yeah i think it's a pretty good opportunity for kids so get along if you're listening and should be a good day
Fifth quarter camps happening in Melbourne. These July school holidays, Thursday the 2nd of July, as Harry said, from 9 to 1, Caulfield Grammar, Wheelers Hill Campus. Chapter 2: What are Fifth Quarter Camps and how is Harry involved?
But I'm slowly adding strength to my bow and playing a bit more of a contested game. So I think we have a really good mix in there at the moment. We're probably not kicking many goals in the midfield group, which is the next phase of us, I think. But, yeah, I think we all complement each other pretty well in there.
Is there someone that you model, not model your game on, but someone that you see that you would like to eventually get to that level with the way that you want to play?
There's been a lot of players over the years. I've always loved watching Toby Green. I know he obviously plays a lot more forward than I do. But, yeah, I've always loved watching Scott Pendlebury, the way he plays in that more defensive corridor type midfield role. I think Callaghan plays it really well at the moment. And, yeah, that's sort of the role I'm in at the moment.
So I'm watching a lot of that. But, yeah, those goal-kicking midfielders like you spoke about at Dusky is probably the best to ever do it and in big moments. And, yeah, other players as well.
Harry Sheegs was with us on Fireball. North currently 7-7 in 10th position. Harry, I reckon you would have taken that at the start of the year, but it probably doesn't tell the deepest story. There's been some horrible losses in there. There's been a couple of horrible quarters which have been well documented.
For you, are you more positive about the platform that you've got or do you feel like you're still a little bit off where you should be?
I think we're definitely off from where we can get to for sure. I think especially the last... Six to eight weeks, we've played some good teams and probably shown that we're not at the level. And probably the last couple of weeks, we haven't played great football and got the four points. Last week, we definitely probably shouldn't have. And yeah, yesterday was a pretty...
scrappy game we didn't play anywhere near our best but I think we still were the better side but yeah we definitely have a lot of room for growth and we're going to need to do it pretty quickly if we want to get to where we want to get to this season I don't think in my career I've ever won three games in a row so we had that opportunity this week to win our third in a row and
um, yeah, I don't think we're, we're good enough to just think that we're going to get it done and, um, think that we're past those losses or, um, just easy wins. So, um, yeah, big week for us and just really back to like, I know it's cliche to say, but the process and not getting caught up in, in the external stuff.

Chapter 3: How does Harry Sheezel assess the Kangaroos' recent form?
trying to make sure that our model stacks up against the best and he's always tinkering with it. And yeah, that's why I have so much faith in him that we're going to get it right. And yesterday was probably a lot of skill execution.
It wasn't really game plan, but I think we did take a step in the right direction in terms of our team defense, which has been holding us back, especially against the best teams.
