that we, you know, at this point we're crypto natives, we think of this as normal, right?
We think of it as like, yeah, you got to check the approvals and you got to make sure that you don't get hacked.
And like, you got to never click on drainers and always check the domain.
And like, we know all of these things because we've been in the space for a very long time.
But the original story that I was told when I first got into crypto back in 2016, right?
That story was that smart contracts would change the way that people did legal agreements.
is that instead of signing a legal contract, you would sign a smart contract.
That's why we call them contracts, right?
It's the analogy between legal contracts and code.
And the idea is that, okay, you and I want to strike a deal.
We're going to sign a smart contract, and that smart contract is going to check the outcome.
And look, I've been doing this now for 10 years, and I have never done an investment via a smart contract.
Every time I do an investment, I sign a legal contract.
Now, I'm one of the most sophisticated firms in the industry.
We manage billions of dollars.
We've literally got engineers on staff.
Why are we not?
And our counterparties are other crypto startups.
And yet we're not signing deals with smart contracts.
Why are we not doing that?
