A lot of people know this who either have started businesses or they have parents start businesses.
There's lots of paperwork there.
The thing that the listeners talking about is like stake offer product where they say, don't worry about the accountant and stuff like we'll handle that for you.
It's a very kind of compelling and interesting product.
I haven't used it, but it seems quite well priced.
But at the end of the day, the question should really be like, do I want an SMSF or not?
Whether you're using like a stake or doing it through your accountant versus like that is a,
a detail amidst this like much bigger question.
And just for like the listeners benefit, we did this podcast on the Aussie fire pod I do with Dave Gow.
And we brought in a guy who's like an expert on expat living.
Yeah.
And he was talking about one thing people miss with SMSFs, for instance, the self-managed do it yourself ones is that a lot of countries don't see them as retirement accounts because they don't understand what it is.
So if you like leave Australia and I might be butchering it and you,
move to another country to retire there and you become a tax resident there, they might actually start trying to tax what's in your super before you can access it because they don't understand.
There's like all these implications of it.
So a really good general rule for people I think is unless you like are really confident, you know what you're doing with an SMSF,
don't go down that route like there's a lot of people i know who've been like i went and did an smsf and i regret it that was unnecessary but i don't have a lot of people that have been like damn it if only i opened an smsf 10 years ago my life would be wildly different but i'd be interested because you're in the space and advising people is that do you think that's a fair description yeah yeah yeah i was at brett wilson that you had on if yeah yeah
Yeah, sure.
The advice I tell my friends is like unless people would consider you rich or unless you have like really strong high conviction opinions that you want to do some kind of custom stuff with the way your super is invested is probably not a topic that most people need to be concerned about.
