Whereas churches and other houses of worship have long been known as places of refuge, faith, and fellowship, opening their doors to those who seek comfort, guidance, and community. podcast-host

Whereas the safety and security of churches and other religious congregations are vital to preserving their ability to serve their members and the broader community. podcast-host

Whereas there are increasing reports of theft, vandalism, violence against religious organization and persons of faith. podcast-host

And whereas, as we repeatedly witness, including last week in Manchester, England, where members of a synagogue attending Yom Kippur services were brutally attacked and several were killed. podcast-host

whereas houses of worship are encouraged to develop and maintain comprehensive safety plans, including establishing clear operating hours, training staff and volunteers in crisis awareness, limiting entry points, reinforcing doors and locks, and engaging with local law enforcement to access and where required, guards are asked to be there. podcast-host
