So the office opened in the mid-80s, but it's sort of expanded through the years.

I know, I'm so sorry.

And, like, even more watch out for, like, the beans.

You spend, you know, for me, almost 20 years telling asylum seekers, go to all your appointments, go to court, tell the truth, get your proof.

And I took for granted that implicit in that is court will be safe and you will be heard.

And last year corrected that for me, right?

I think it's how lawless it is.

It's like an animus against due process, right?

The law is as we declare it, right?

Makes it really hard as an attorney advising people because I can advise people as to what the law is, but that's increasingly at odds with what their experience will be.

The first couple days, people didn't understand what was happening, right?

And you would even have people being like, oh, yeah, dismiss my case.

Great.

But then pretty quickly, people were educated.

I jumped in on a case after the gentleman had been detained, and he was like, I had my proof.

I'm, like, telling the judge, no, don't dismiss my case.

Look, I've got this proof.

I've got these things to show you.

And it doesn't matter.
