We're not trying to manipulate and shape our kids.

We're trying to understand them as human beings and to guide them and to be their partners in learning about the world.

So it's not really like we have any problem with specific things that people do.

If it's working, then you continue to do it.

But having that mentality of my job is not to manipulate and

shape behavior.

My job is to go under the surface and understand and figure out what developmental skill my child's working on.

How can I be their partner and and help them and s be there as their assistant to give them the little boost that they need at every level.

So it's not really about the behavior and rewards and punishments are very much about behavior.
