Yeah.
And they add to temic issues, like we're doing a podcast about it.
But actually what's more important is not just where electricity and gas comes from, it's what we use in our homes, in our cars.
Seventy eight percent of our energy comes from oil and gas, which I think most people would be quite surprised by, particularly how many wind farms we put up.
And I think that we're talking about energy security.
As Ed Miliband said when he was climate secretary, it puts us at the mercy of international markets, it puts us at the mercy of people like Putin and despots and Trump as well, who who we're buying a lot of our gas from now.
We do have the technology there to create clean energy.
We could actually build more nuclear power stations.
Like the only country in Europe that has a decarbonised grid is France, and th that's from nuclear.
We could be
pushing more towards heat pumps and towards EVs.
This is the way the world is going in general.
It's the way we should go much more quickly.
So there's no point arguing about drilling.
If we're not going to start talking also about electrifying the country.
And moving away from oil and gas in general.
And we're not doing that.
Um it was to help economic growth, help the car industry, the consumers who don't necessarily want to buy them.
But I do think most people who buy a new car now will will be at least considering electric.
