Well, speaking of now, let's start with the Trump-Chi summit. matched

So in looking at how both sides characterize the meeting, we have the US saying that President Trump and President Xi confirmed their shared goal to denuclearize North Korea in the context of kind of a broader commitment to what's now being called a constructive relationship. matched

strategic stability, basically the two sides looking at matched

international issues as something to be addressed together, or at least the US wanting to see things that way. matched

From the Chinese side, the Korean Peninsula was discussed. matched

So that's what we have. matched

Hoping to get your take on what does that mean to you? matched

What do you see in at the very least the common understanding that both sides want to be known publicly, that the issue was discussed, but then you can hear, you know, some perhaps dissonance in the tone with which they want to present the issue. matched

How are you thinking about the summit? matched

So it sounds like maybe the US is overstating the degree of alignment on this issue, but there is still some foundational concern shared between the two sides to the degree that China isn't totally averse to having some impression of public common understanding between the two sides, which is interesting because it often seems like even when China is genuinely frustrated with North Korea for whatever matched

Whatever reason, it often feels like they are quite hesitant, at least in recent years, to appear to express that frustration with the US for fear that that actually diminishes their leverage over the North. matched

So how do you parse this in the context of that dynamic that we've seen in more recent years? matched
