Yeah, so I think that's what people believe.

So I think what's very important here is to go back and really read these original texts.

So when I started this, I was just going to

do two or three cases like this.

And then people said, every time I looked carefully at a text, it turned out that they fit the pattern of what I said, just said about Perry.

And then someone said, no, no, you really got to go read, you know, Thompson and violins, or you got to go read this or that.

right.

Of course, I'd already read them, but I didn't really remember all the details.

So I would go back and read them very carefully.

And I'd be just shocked by how easy it was to say the kind of thing that I just said about Perry.

about any one of these cases.

So the next case then after the Perry one is Burge that you just mentioned.

And maybe the case I'm even the most convinced about doesn't fit the caricature because Burge makes a claim about how he would report the mistaken patient who thinks she has arthritis in her thigh.

And then in effect what he does for 30, 40 pages, and it's a fantastic paper,

He goes through endless number of possible objections, reinterpretations of the claim, she believes she has her throat as in her thigh.

It's not that there's this, no, she believes she has her throat as in her thigh, end of story.

It isn't like that.

It's 30 pages of careful interpretation, reinterpretation, argumentation, evidence seduced, all kinds of.

theories of appeal to justify what ends up being the correct initial response.

Namely, she does believe she has arthritis in her thigh and then certain consequences, important consequences follow from that.
