How could it not?
And it wasn't just my mother's death.
It was everything that came after.
And that is so true for anyone who loses a mom.
I mean, the aftermath in your story involved caretaking.
An elderly grandparent.
A lot of women find that they have to take a lot of responsibility for themselves after a mom dies.
Or a stepmother comes into the story very quickly.
They have to adjust to that.
Or...
The family moved and they had to change homes and neighborhoods and schools and friends and so much changes in the aftermath.
And that affects your life, your worldview, the choices you will make later.
It really does affect everything.
And I don't mean that in kind of a dramatic, overblown kind of way.
No, I'm sure.
It sets into motion a chain of events that leads you in a direction you wouldn't otherwise probably have gone in.
And in that respect, it affects, I mean, it affected my career choice.
It affected how I met the man I married.
And so my daughters exist because my mom died.
