But at the same time, man, they ratchet up a level of adrenaline that you don't feel most other days.
I mentioned this at the top when this announcement was made.
Well, I've been tossing it back and forth in my mind for the last couple of years.
I'm 72 years old now.
So effectively, when I retire, I'll be 73.
And objectively, I would sit back and say, well, isn't that enough?
I mean, most people are retired at 73.
What gives me pause, though, and had given me pause for a while, is that for whatever reason, this business is
seems to breed, whether it's insecurity or just such a deep passion for what we do, that it's more difficult to let go than it probably is for most other people in their given and chosen professions.
but you know i got to think of a couple of things number one i am sick and tired of coming home at night because we live in florida now you know i'll be a new yorker forever but florida's home now and so when my wife is up in new york during the season i come home 11 11 15 whatever on an average night
And she'd be sitting there on her computer in the kitchen or the living room, because we're just renting an apartment now.
We sold our place in New York.
And I'd say, so what'd you do tonight?
Nothing.
What'd you have for dinner?
A bowl of cereal.
And it's like, enough.
I can't do this to her anymore.
There were so many years where I did hockey, full seasons of hockey and baseball concurrently.
And that takes a unique amount of sacrifice.
