And so they very generously, their mom gave me his guitar and his mandolin.

And so for all of these years that I've had it, you know, I think of him every time I play one of those.

But I never met him.

I'd never talked to him, never had any kind of conversation.

I had no idea what he would have thought of me as the husband of his daughter.

Yeah.

And I had just had that feeling already.

For so long since, you know, we met in 2007 and we'd been together for so long when I finally started writing this song.

One of the things that happened around that time was Lindsay found these home movies that were from her childhood, these like camcorder videos.

And then they digitized them so we could actually watch them together.

And a lot of the videos were shot by her father.

Yeah.

Thank you.

But, yeah, I mean, living with someone who had lost a parent the entire time that we've been together, in a way, kind of gave me some instruction of how to carry that loss.

One, please.

I have a very close friend, Karl Lohndorff, who everybody loves.

Just everybody loves him.

I love him.

From the moment I met him, I was just like, this guy is so charming and funny and sweet and great.
