Many of them are unsuccessful candidates for the recently concluded governor's primary in Maine.
There's also a much wider bench of Maine political leaders who I think could make good candidates if they chose to run.
Younger leaders, Mattie Daughtry, the state Senate president, is like 39 years old, for example.
There are many, many others who would bring something interesting, I think, to the table here.
We're going to see this evolve over the coming couple of weeks.
But we're already seeing, I think, a few interesting storylines clarified under a really, really tight timeline.

Where do you find a room in Maine in the middle of the summer?
It's wedding season.
It's holiday season.
But if there's anybody that can pull it off, it's the leadership team at this Maine Democratic Party.
I have full confidence that they're going to get the job done.
I mean, like, right.
I mean, just the logistics of getting everybody under one roof becomes a real challenge here.
And I think back to, you know, you and I were involved in the 2008 primary process, the logistics that a lot of states dealt with that were trying caucuses for the first time.
you know, well intentioned runs headlong into legit, good intentions run headlong into logistics and you've got a real problem.
But they're going to pull that off.
I'm convinced of that.
But something that I would watch very closely is the method that they will use to do the vote.
