He was pushed on his future, and it was pretty clear from his response that he absolutely expects to be Liverpool manager next season.
And Greg, another thing the manager was asked about was the left back, Andy Robertson, who he talked about in glowing terms, to be fair.
I quite liked the way he almost held them up as, this is what good looks like.
When people are looking back at what a left back should be doing, he talked about Andy Robertson as, that's your guy.
That's who you can look at and go, if you're playing that position, you won't go far wrong than to look at him.
Sean, I think it's fair to say maybe Robbo's powers have faded a little bit over the last 18 months, two years.
Still done well at times, but maybe not quite the same player he once was.
I'm intrigued by the whole leadership and standards thing because it's talked about a lot now in the context of the manager.
But obviously in the context of maybe some of the players who might be leaving the club, where I find it hard to square a little bit is that there's no doubt some of those senior players have been unbelievable leaders in the dressing room because you get that sense from an Alisson, from a Salah, from a Robertson, from a Van Dijk, etc.
Now, potentially a number of them are going to leave and people will talk about things like, well, you're losing a huge kind of part of the leadership.
in terms of what's been good for Liverpool but then when it becomes slightly more difficult as that they've all been there this season and yet there's been a distinct lack of leadership both maybe you'd say from the manager because of how things have played out this season but also at times on the pitch and some of those lads I've mentioned have been on the fucking pitch so where do you land with that because I am finding this one a bit of a tricky one to navigate if I'm honest
One of those senior players, Josh, is Canarte.
Now, he falls into that category.
He's been around Liverpool for a number of years.
Obviously, he's still relatively young as well.
But Beth, in the press conference, asked a question about his contract and she got the answer she expected, which is no news.
Are you a little bit surprised that maybe that's not got done?
Because there were certainly kind of noises from the player that actually we weren't too far away from seeing this kind of
Yeah, he wasn't quite as harsh this time as maybe he's been in other press conferences.
But I think it's just a really sad one, if I'm honest, that Harvey's gone somewhere.
