It's been... I haven't necessarily agreed with some of the revisioners about those early performances.

Yeah, listen, it was a lot of late goals, but there were some really good performances in there as well.

Maybe not full 19 minutes, and that was a problem throughout the season.

But I thought, for example, Atletico at home, we were great, started to get to the Champions League semi-final, and I think we're really good for long periods.

And actually...

you know they get back into the game with a deflected goal and you know I think they're very lucky to be 2-2 it's not like one of the you know another one where you know we used to go we throw it away I thought we were great against a really good team who we found it hard against in the past and

and then they go on to win it you know they fight back and go on to win it I thought we were good against Everton at home you know we beat the champions at home 1-0 yeah they were a bit timid on the day of Arsenal but you know they didn't massively change how they played all season and they were top but we beat them well and so I think those performances

I think there was, although you had to be a little bit cautious around some of them, of course, I think there was plenty of reasons why we were all so optimistic because I think we were showing the fact that we were champions and we were getting it done.

But like I said, there was really good performances in there as well in winning those first seven and then a couple like Burnley where you go away and you're not great, but they get the late goal.

So I was feeling good about the Reds at that point.

But as soon as it unraveled, it unraveled at a remarkable, you know, pacing.

You know, there's Palace away.

where they're poor and you nearly get back into it, but then get beat.

But that can happen.

And then you go to Galatasaray and get beaten.

Even that one, I'm sort of feeling, well, okay, Turkey's always hard.

And the way the Champions League group is now, you can afford to lose a couple of them.

You go to Chelsea and manage to lose in a similar sort of way.

You start to be a little bit worried, but then you're like, well, we've got this international break, we'll get ourselves sorted.

And then that Man United at home, one was when I really started to worry and I just thought, they look miles off air.
