But I can't see us suddenly, you know, exploding into this championship winning team because I just think there is too much to do.

Sometimes teams can do this big jump.

We don't even know who they're getting in and there's someone we don't know who's leaving.

And I'm completely getting either.

So what team starts for us in the middle of August when we start the season?

I mean...

God only knows at the moment, but it feels to me like it's unlikely that we're going to be finishing above Arsenal next season for me.

But I think there's ways obviously it can be better and there's ways it should be better and there's ways it needs to be better.

And I'm not sure this manager for me is willing to sort of put those things into place where we go away and say, well, at least they had a go or at least they were tough to play against or at least they got in the faces and challenged a little bit.

Now, this kind of version of the team where

I never want to see a team that's not as good as its talent.

I think there's been a whole host of players over the years where we've actually quite liked them and they've not been the best footballer in the world but they've put everything into it and they've been popular within the club and I think that

a Liverpool team should always be you can't necessarily be more than the sum of your parts because there's a lot of factors around it but at least able to you know to give everything that their talent has got and I feel like for some of these now we're actually you know we're seeing less because there's a lot of talent on the pitch but there's not necessarily that desire and work way to go with it and I think that's tough for a Liverpool crowd and I think that's that's something that we need to address be that through recruitment be that through

leadership changes both on and off the pitch or or whatever it might be but i think that i think there is just that great disconnect between what he wants and what fans want and when it's perfect and when it's going well you know we can all sort of get on board with it but but when it's not i think that's where the bigger problems lie okay uh really good uh thank you very much just one a couple of things that you said thought were interesting as we went through i want to um ask you about firstly is why do you think next season will be tough whoever the manager is

I just think there's so much to do.

And I think, you know, we've all around this table watched football for a long time.

I think it's unlikely that you could do everything that needs to do and put on the pitch a team that suddenly goes, suddenly looks ready to take on.

I mean, you might be able to get there.

There might be a case of, okay, well, we have a start where it doesn't look quite right.
