And the people who can do this are effectively computer science students from developing countries where, you know, a few cents here and there, you know, that adds up to like dollars, you know, a few dollars a day actually a reasonable money for them to work online and kind of practice their coding experience.
Now the challenge we faced was paying them, right?
People like students in China don't have bank accounts, they have WeJetPay.
Uh back then in Ukraine, if you receive dollars from your bank account, you actually by law required to sell half of it.
Um you know, there was no way to pay into some countries for whatever reasons, right?
Like there's the PayPal didn't work, you know, transfer wise didn't work.
Uh and so there's all kind of weird like just paym just pure payments problems that we faced while trying to collect more data.
And so we ended up saying, Okay, well
We've heard of this blockchain thing.
it it's a global payment network, it should solve our problem.
So we're just trying to s use blockchain as a solution to our own problem of kind of coordinating and paying a bunch of people.
And as we did our research just in 2018, we kind of like
Well, architecturally none of them scale.
They're kind of very like slow, hard to use, hard hard to build on.
And so that's sort of like, Hey, if there was a blockchain with this criteria, you know, easy to use, scales, microtransactions are always predictable price, we would use it.
But there's none.
Yeah, and so we should just build that and then, you know, use it ourselves to and come back to AI.
And we thought we were gonna build it in six months, to be clear.
So we're like, hey, you know, it's easy, right?
It's just some systems, uh we're gonna ship it and come back.
