So just to kick us off, could you tell us about your experience with conversion therapy and did you ever think it was a cult?

Yeah, it sounds like there's a very large emphasis on eroding any sense of inner trust you have within yourself, even when it comes to things like choosing the people that you surround yourself with.

So I'm wondering if you could talk a little bit more about some of the expected entry and exit costs of this cult.

Like, what are you losing entering?

What do you lose when you exit?

And not only just for that, but for the person's family and friends as well.

That is totally terrifying, especially given just the absolute melange of different self-improvement avenues that there are on the internet.

I can see something like this getting tied up in so many different formats of that.

I am wondering if the path to conversion therapy kind of always functions as a pipeline from religious settings, or if you've witnessed a secular falling into this cult.

We've been talking about the power of ew today, and I think that earns one.

This is such a crude comparison, but it reminds me of this BoJack Horseman episode where they rescue a chicken from a factory farm.

If anyone has seen this episode, they might understand that.

But one of the biggest culty red flags that sticks out to me in what you just said is just the total lack of ability to question anything happening around you and just the impetus to look inward with any and all criticisms.

I'm wondering if there are any other similarities with cult-like groups that you haven't pointed out yet that you'd like to highlight.

Following that thread of things that people might not necessarily expect, there's a lot of emphasis on the harmful psychological consequences that come along with conversion therapy, like obviously, very rightfully so.
