I I'm not close enough to programs to know I mean, you know, in in Los Angeles County the for profits are, you know, a disaster with some of the longer term like the detox being uh exceptions uh to that rule, but they're it's just it's just a mess.

And but there are like eight hundred or a thousand

Um but I will say and I and I pointed this out in the uh op ed in Stat in December

That uh last year um 53% of hospice programs provided no GIP care to any patient.

This is a continued condition of participation.

This is not a best practice.

This is this is min specs, this is the floor, right?

61% of for-profits delivered no GIP care.

So what happens if somebody's an extremist in home, if they have just infarcted their bowel on home hospice, or if they start

seizing and they they they they're crescendo, you know, going into status epilepticus.

What happens?

Either they go down continuous home care or somebody comes to the home and you know, or they go into GIP or

They are alive discharge and get admitted to the acute care hospital.

I just again I I keep bringing this back to the field and our our academy and our associations.

This is something that we should all kinda have our hair on fire about.

And it's happening, it's been happening with the data that we currently have, it can be seen.

We've all seen it and we're not i well, you know it dominated the agenda of this meeting, right, uh uh in Montreal.

No, it's actually not there.

I I would refer you to the joint uh statement that uh NHPCO and NOC and Leading Edge and NPHI, I think uh think those were the four that came together and and have issued to CMS and and Congress.
