I mean, I did, yeah.
Obviously, kind of like the main touchstone to use here is kind of Beckett's Molloy.
And for those of you who know, it's in two parts.
And there are two different parts.
Well, they're two characters at different stages of cognitive decline in a way.
So it starts with a character who's sort of looking for his mother's house and kind of forgets he's looking for his mother's house and just sort of does nothing but runs over a dog with a bike and rotates pebbles around his pockets.
Animal cruelty.
And the second part is a seemingly completely different character with a different name.
And it's a private investigator who is tasked or kind of like employed to look for Malloy, the main character of the first part.
But then in the second part, as it progresses, that private investigator turns into what is kind of recognizable as Malloy.
He sort of becomes the thing he's looking for.
So actually the second part is happening before the first part, which is what I'm doing with my new novel.
It so happens.
But anyway.
It's not a doppelgänger, technically speaking, but it's sort of like a split thing.
or a doubled up individual, I think.
